Since my miscarriage at 7 weeks, life has been a whirlwind in a good way.
JOB:
On Sep 24th I got a call from Express (Temp Agency I signed up with when I moved to WA) offering me an accounting job starting immediately with a company 20 minutes away from home. Starting pay was decent and it had the opportunity to turn into something long term if the fit was right. I started work two days later. I hadn't found a daycare for Zach yet, so they were letting me work until 2:30 so I could go pick him up after school until the wait list opened up.
2 weeks into working for them, they offered me a full time position! The job pays $5k more than the one I left in BC (which was a union job too). They will also pay for my CPA Canadian dues and education towards my American CPA at some point in the future. Medical and retirement benefits will be in place after a year of working there.
HOUSE:
We bought a house!!! We have been looking since July (before we found that the court would let us move). Because of our picky-ness it has been hard to find something that we like. Our list of Requirements: No HOA, minimum 4 bedrooms, no older than 10 years, in the school catchment for my son's school, central location.
Finally, by complete fluke, we found for sale by owner. The best part is that the owner is a well known quality builder in our area and he happened to be selling his own home that he built. It has tons of built in's and upgrades, is in immaculate condition and is an amazing deal because we kept realtors out of it. We are going to be moving in at the end of the month or a little sooner, depending on how quick they get moved out.
It is the highest appraised house on the street, yet we paid less than most of our neighbors. We are SO EXCITED to move. However, it is so hard to find moving boxes. I have looked at Fred Meyer's, Barnes and Noble, Costco, Target, etc. and nobody has boxes.
PREGNANCY:
TTC has been on the back burner. Thankfully, life has gotten so busy and exciting that it's not on my mind much and my focus is elsewhere. I don't know when we will go back to IUI's and Clomid and that whole world. We still want to try, but the urge is not as all encompassing as before. Maybe we are just not meant to have any children together. I wonder if we would be okay accepting that and letting go. Stepping back and not interfering with nature. I want to be okay with that and to gracefully move on in other aspects of our lives, but I also don't want to look back 10 years later and kick myself for not doing everything in our power to conceive. I don't want to feel like we are giving up prematurely, but the will to keep fighting is waning.
